Rococo Insights

We love this mini-site from the Victoria and Albert museum which gives an insight into the Rococo style, including the designs of John Linnell whose work rivals that of Chippendale in quality.

"Design for the side of a room John Linnell created this design in about 1755 for an unknown client. The chimney-piece features elaborate carving and natural motifs, while the design of the clock is asymmetrical. Rocaille can be seen at the centre top of the mirror frame. The design gives an idea of the wide range of Rococo-style furnishings produced by Linnell's firm"
