New England Elegance

Cindy Rinfret’s latest interior design project is lavishly illustrated in New England Home’s Connecticut Summer 2011 and selected pieces from Theodore Alexander and Althorp Living History take centre stage.

Set in “two hundred and fifty acres of breathtaking land” this newly refurbished family home in New England juxtaposes elegance with practicality. As Megan Fulweiler writes, “A beautiful room lights up those lucky enough to stand within its walls”.

Rinfret combined existing family pieces with newer items, creating a seamless and comfortable living environment.

“That’s the great thing about the house,” says Rinfret. “It’s elegant but not stuffy.”

This image of the gorgeous panelled library (above) has the Oak passage tables to the forefront, upon which rest the specimen parquetry box.  The Billiard Room Chairs sit as a pair, reflecting the symmetry of the coffee tables.

In the dining room (below) strong colours and gold accents create visual drama. The Althorp Drawing Room chairs add Regency charm.

Blue and white china reflects the wallpaper in the dining room beyond (above). The Regency tray top coffee table acts as a focal point.

Below a vintage Althorp living History console shelters a Grecian and brass mounted stool.

Above the Regency tray top coffee table and Grecian and brass mounted stools flank and face the marble fireplace.

Symmetry defines the classical exterior of the house
