Patchwork Perfection

The Patchwork Bedroom at Althorp provides the pattern for the meticulous parquetry on our patchwork inspired pieces.

The name derives from the hangings created for one of the bedrooms in the later nineteenth century by Charlotte, Countess Spencer (1835-1903) wife of the 5th Earl, and her sisters. The design encompassed quilts, curtains and cushion covers in a colourful kaleidoscope of decoration. Read more
